Rigpa Australia – Celebrating United Nations International Peace Day

16/09/2023 @ 12:45 pm - 5:45 pm AEST

Individuals create societies. Our society shapes us as individuals. There is a defining relationship between how we are and the world we live in.

At this free community event, you will cultivate inner peace through the practice of meditation and reflect on how to engage peacefully with family, colleagues, community and society.

This event is part of Rigpa’s Buddhist Wisdom Now series, which supports engaged Buddhism – applying the Buddha’s teachings to key current issues to bring about social change. It will include:

Outer Peace – A keynote address and Q+A with the Institute for Economics and Peace’s founder, Steve Killelea

Inner Peace – A talk and guided meditations by Rigpa Teacher Marianne Gizycki

Building Peace – An interactive Pillars of Peace workshop facilitated by the IEP’s Patricia Garcia. Experience how to create ‘Positive Peace’ and strengthen peace in your own family and community

Event Facilitation by Vanessa Clayton
